Who we are

We are Independent Speech and Language Therapists who are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Louise Ryves is our registered Data Controller for Mid Cornwall Speech and Language Therapy Limited. We are responsible for looking after all data that you provide and ensuring your privacy.   

The personal data we process

We process personal data from you when you complete our contact us form, during an initial telephone call, and if carry out assessment and intervention for your child.  We process personal data that is shared from other people in your child’s life for example their education setting or other NHS & Independent services.  We only collect and process personal data that is relevant to the care that will be provided by Mid Cornwall Speech and Language Therapy.   

How we use your information

We use your information to provide Independent Speech and Language Therapy Services for your child and to carry out audits on the services we provide.    

Who we share your information with

We only share your information with your consent with other professionals supporting your child.   

All information given will only be shared with your permission unless it is felt that the child/young person is at risk of harm.   In this case it will be shared with the relevant services as outlined in the guidance at Reporting Concerns

How we store your personal data

We store your personal information in GDPR compliant electronic record keeping systems.    

Personal information shared using our contact us form and email or phone enquiries is kept for 3 months.   If there if no further contact the information is destroyed.  

Personal information collected as part of your child’s care with our company is kept until the child’s 25th birthday.  After this date the information is destroyed.    

Our Lawful basis for processing personal data

Our data processing is necessary for the fulfilment of a contract that we have in place with you, or to take steps to put that contract in place. We also process some data in your and our legitimate interests. Health data is processed for the provision of health or social care or treatment.
